ORDO ROSARIUS EQUILIBRIO
realize yourself...

Here are two interviews with ORE. The first one is pretty outdated, the second is taken in August'99. The first interview was made in 1997 so it's supposed to be outdated and not interesting at all. I made it for good old LEGION mag. (R.I.P.) and many our readers told us that it was the best interview of the issue. In fact this interview was very useful for me cuz after it I began to dig industrial/ ambient stuff and black metal lost one of it's worshipers. Not long ago I opened it and I found that it's very vital still, so I decided that I put it on this page as a prologue to the following new interview with ORE.

Interview I / LEGION magazine

All I know about you is that you started in the beginning of 1993. Could you tell me about the history of the band? Who are you guys? How did you get together and why did you decide to play such music?

Ordo Equilibrio originated as the direct result of a fall out that transpired midst me and Mikael Stavostrand as part of Archon Satani in May of 1993, as I decided to resign my participation due to several insignificant inconsistencies pertaining to the bands current status and continuing progress.

Chelsea Krook and I then decided to combine forces as the result of our recently initiated mutual life.

We had come to realize that we shared a variety of mutual interests.
Especially a mutual interest in rubber fetishism and in the practice of B&D.

This specific path of musical, ideological and aesthetic direction was not something I chose. It was rather something that concurred naturally in relation to my individual nature and state of mind. This is who I am, and Ordo Equilibrio is basically a reflection of my being.

There are just two of you in the band as I know. How do you create your music? Who writes music? Could you describe the process of making the music? It is written that you are astrological counterparts. Is that so important for music making that you write it in your newsletter?

Our music is basically created through the use of sampling and our individual voices, and ultimately utilized through the use of emotional canalization and numerological structure in circumference to the numbers of 4 and 6.

The lyrics are further created mutually and subsequently assembled at the point of their interaction, when they simultaneously portray a mutual impression.

I seek to portray the everlasting struggle of Balance, "Equilibrio" over a variety of concepts. Sex, Pleasure, Excitement & Desire. Incorporating our individual interest, and exercise in fetishism, Bondage & Domination as well as S&M.

Religion and all that it may incorporate, both ideologically and aesthetically, in relation my individual religious and philosophical sentiments.

Life. It's veiled beauties, profound mysteries and sometimes uncompromising and ugly truths.

Mankind and my observations of it's initiated procession onto the road of self annihilation.

Equilibrium/ Balance in all its various aspects. Both as an actuality as well as an antithesis. Used to portray a multitude of situations over a variety of aspects.

I believe the aspect of our astrological signs and their astral contrast is genuinely important as part of Ordo Equilibrio and our foundation. Especially as they blend together as Balance in Opposition.
Forming a positive and effectual thriving force that further is extended through the male/ female participation. Invariably concurring, Venus & Mars in alliance, Domination & Servitude in a sexual aspect, and altogether founding an invariably detectable part of our musical foundation.

Do you have live shows? How do they look?

We have up until now [1997] performed live on six different occasions. Thrice in Germany, once the Czech republic, and twice in Sweden.

When performing live we try to present an act that stands in relation to the philosophical and aesthetic ideals of the formation, and in conclusion I am quite satisfied with what we have managed to accomplish so far.

But as we are still investigating the possibilities and disadvantages in regard to perform live, our performance will most certainly evolve into something invariably more representative and effectual as we proceed.

That's pretty boring question, but still tell me what music do you prefer to listen and what are your influences? It would be cool if you tell me about your view on roots and history of industrial music [I asked this question cuz I had no clue about this genre]. What does it mean for you to be a part of CMI?

My inspiration is found over a variety of inclinations, both cultural and political, as well as philosophical and religious, and even more so if they coexist to form one individual expression, representative of all four categories.

The inspiration is therefore found in film, literature and music, and in other art that dare to impose on the definition of the politically correct, and provoke the intellect of the conceiver through various expressions.

Reflecting on life and what it embodies, in contrast to what it could have incarnated if only man would have progressed one way rather than another contemplates me and motivates me greatly.

Observing our past and the events and convictions that have transpired throughout history in relation to the inhuman situation that currently transpires, and estimating what they will convey for the future keeps my imagination and infatuation alive.

Parts of my visual and literal appreciations are related to sex, esoteric and horror. That is where I tend to find my inspiration. Probably since I experience that they confer me with an impression beyond the ordinary apathy that mainstream culture manages to present.

But concurrently I both know and feel that a primary magnitude of my inspiration is found within myself as part of my individual spiritual workings, as I reflect on the above mentioned subjects of Life, Sex, Mankind, Religion and Equilibrium etc. etc.

The Industrial or Dark Ambient style of music as it is commonly referred to, had its origin back in the late seventies in three essential bands. Throbbing Gristle (TG), SPK and Monte Gazzaza.

TG, SPK and Monte Gazzaza still remain relatively popular in Europe and all over the world, but to claim that Industrial/ Dark Ambient music is 'extensively' appreciated would be exaggerate the current status.

It is nevertheless possible to sell a relatively reasonable number of records and occasionally acquire some performances in various parts of Europe. But as the appreciation and interest is currently increasing it may become more frequently popular.

Life as part of the industrial scene is truly hard to determine as it most certainly differs. But from my individual point of view, being part of Cold Meat Industry it is basically a congregation of extreme individuals with equally characteristic aesthetic and sometimes philosophical valuations who occasionally come together and have a good time. Burning crosses (?), crashing cars (?), going skinny dipping (?), etc. etc.

A couple of words to our readers

Sex is truly an imparting exercise.
Unconditionally linked with the process of procreation and renewal, in combination with an infinite magnitude of pleasures.

Sex is beautiful, delightful and necessary, not something foul, perverted and shameful, which tends to be the residing apprehension of today.

Every voluntary sexual experience is ultimately more positive and conferring when utilized as a sexual encounter, regardless of the outcome, than that of any intense and compelling sexual fantasy as part of your sexuality never utilized.

"A good orgasm certainly confers an equal measure of energy to any variety of ritual sacrifice".

And to finally quote our dear friend of 'No Festival of Light', "Within the pleasures of the flesh, rests the Salvation of the human spirit".

Interview II /
Musical Magazine 1999

The last time we did the interview it was year 1997. I know that you already
released third album (well talk about it later). What else happened with Ordo Equilibrio since then? What has happened with OE since our first interview in 97?

Not much, but still too much I imagine.

First there was the genesis and completion of Conquest, Love & Self
Perseverance throughout 97 & parts of 98, ensued with the separation of Chelsea and me in the spring of 98, and which byreason of personal differences throughout 1999 now has resolved in Chelseas departure from OE. Associated with the release of Conquest, Love & Self Perseverance on June 22nd 1998 there were a variety performances throughout Europe; in Leipzig Germany, Waregem Belgium, Warsaw & Katowice Poland, and which had its conclusion in Stockholm Sweden on November 28th 1998 together with Blood Axis, No Festival of Light &Waldteufel. I have thence worked with the spawning and creation of new OE material, and which incidentally will resolve in the release of a new Ordo Equilibrio CD and a limited 2 x 7 box; and which hopefully as far as I am able to comply with all my aspirations, will be available at some point throughout 1999.

All people who like OE agree that Conquest is the best album of
OE to date. What do you think about the album today, after a year since
releasing it? Have you increased the sales of CD in comparing with two previous albums?

Your assessment that ALL people who appreciate OE acknowledge Conquest, Love & Self Perseverance as my heretofore greatest accomplishment is not entirely accurate. An evident quantity of people aquatinted with OE discern Reaping the fallen, The first harvest as my hitherto greatest accomplishment, and notwithstanding that I personally agree with your appraisal that Conquest, Love & Self Perseverance is the most proficient OE working yet; I am in retrospect, not entirely satisfied with itscomplete outcome. Conquest, Love & Self Perseverance has likely come to nourish and increase my collective sales, but I believe the compiled quality of all previous workings is the factual catalyst of any granted and conceivable commercialsuccess.

Conquest is softer and less industrial then two previous albums. Does that mean that youve chosen less radical, conventional and more understandable for masses sound? Shall we call it conformism?

It is conceivable that Conquest, Love & Self Perseverance is more lenient in
sound than any of its predecessors, but I am averse to allege that it is supposedly more conventional, less radical and therewith more liable to attract and intrigue any comprehensive quantity of people. It would be splendid if this was the conspicuous ontemporary situation, that the alleged less industrial sound of Conquest, Love & Self Perseverance attracted peoples attention; distinctively as this would ascertain some substantiation to the claim that people are not apprehensive of intellectual contemplation, and that they do indeed think for themselves, but its not. And unfortunately I believe it is
still too lyrically, symbolically and aesthetically ambiguous; requisite of too considerable intellectual and aesthetic venture that any greater variation of people would find it essentially intriguing and not too alarming.

The lyrics on The triumph were dealing with anti-Christianity (in many countries you can easy get a sentence for Living by the Sword) but Conquest is totally dedicated to love and sex. Why did you change the direction so dramatically?

The Triumph of Light.... and Thy Thirteen Shadows of Love is partially akin to another philosophical content than that of Conquest, Love & Self Perseverance, conceivably more religiously affiliated than its successor; but Conquest, Love & Self Perseverance however, is not to any extent solely dedicated to the abstraction of Love and Sex, but more accurately affiliated and dedicated to several distinct and contrary subjects not instantaneously related to either Love or Sex; as for a variation of literal manifestos pertaining to - the girdle and essence of human nature - the rise and fall of humanity individualism and the survival of the apt - and likewise - the victory of reason over ignorance.

Many statements in the songs from Conquest remind me ideology in Satanism of American Church of Satan. Looks like you did read LaVeys Satanic Bible. Do you share the philosophy of COS and what is your opinion about Satanism (COS)? (In fact, in my stupid country the one who says, Im a Satanist will appear in a mental hospital or prison very soon. LEGION was forbidden by the state for Satanism this spring.)

I have stated on various occasions that I welcome the existence and operations
of the Church Of Satan, and that I believe we have an affiliated estimation of what fundamental principles establish the human nature alongside the progression and retrogression of mankind. But if this consolidated appreciation of nominated fundamental principles make me Satanist according to your or anyone elses opinion, so let it be your judgement, it is not any of my concern. I know who and what I am, and I would personally not designate myself the identification of Satanist. I believe the concerned comprehension of Satanism and Luciferianism however, along with any philosophical and spiritual conviction endorsing the utilization of human potential and the confidence in individual workings; both associated and disassociated with Satanism, are vastly more advantageous spiritual applications by which to pragmatically effectuate interaction, realization and decisive gratification pertaining to life; more appropriately than by virtue of all other contemporary philosophical, religious and spiritual convictions. I however believe that a needlessly large quantity of members; particularly conspicuous throughout various American left-hand associations and publications, is wasting a needlessly vast quantity of energy on the perpetual endorsement of their satanic vocation; and which more appropriately could be directed in a pragmatic context for the accomplishment of something constructive. Satanism however, likely in Belarus and throughout the entire Russian continent, requires definition. Basically since the term too often has been abused, distorted and thus become wrongfully projected into a certain terminology and definition. Decisively perverted by the prejudice conjectures of the contemporary media and the unacquainted, apprehensive constituents of society, and thus become exclusively representative of the deplorable exertions of seemingly demented black metal teens; concisely with
exclusive reference to actions of church burning, the desecration of graves, along with the alleged sacrifice of abducted infants etc., etc.

Consequently being as any sane and unbiased individual knows, not the customary behavior of any human beingthroughout the world, Satanist or not. Satan has come to be representative of all that which Christianity and Judaism fear. And as Satan in Hebrew translates adversary, Satanism has merely come to justify and materialize the dogma and the factual objective of each respective faith; to find a scapegoat for each beliefs individual and collective inadequacy ofproviding veritable answers and salvation.

Christianity desperately sought any enemy to prevent individual enlightenment and spiritual progress, and the actions they knew would eliminate their religious and sociological authority, they made representative with
Satan and Lucifer. Exemplified by enlightenment, individual action and the alleged desire to stand above god, Hybris. Satan is accordingly representative of all the seven deadly sins, establishing the foundation of human nature; Lust, Greed, Sloth, Envy, Pride, Gluttony and Wrath. Representative of all that which is human, natural, and individually gratifying, all that which would eliminate mankinds requirement for superficial faith andconceivably make mankind human. Satan does not necessarily or naturally by definition of its symbolism and terminology, impart neither Love nor comfort, but the actions representative of Satan such as a philosophical concept and spiritual energy may impart gratification, comfort and decisive enlightenment; resulting in the outcome of Love. All which simultaneously would bring about the conclusive termination of all superficial faith, and consequently establish a conviction in the potential of human capability; embracing celebration rather than submission. And I am thus, spiritually and philosophically supportive of specific and explicit conceptions comprised throughout the appointed satanic establishment, as I believe they more prosperously would realize the individual that I endorse, and decisively contribute with a more natural and
certainly more operative comprehension of mankind; alongside a genuine comprehension of the contemporary terrestrial status in which we subsist, and at the hand of which they both successively could be improved. 6. Its good time to talk about your new album. When do you plan to release it? At this time there is a forth and a fifth working scheduled for late autumn/winter 1999, optionally early spring 2000; but the factual instant of their respective releases are yet dependent on the contemporaryunfolding of aspirations and individual premises.

Will we find any changes in music on this album? Talk a bit about news we
doomed to meet on upcoming album.

Judging from a personal perspective, I believe the contemporary and yet
unreleased material is my most competent achievement thus far melodically, lyrically and technically. And granted that you appreciate Reaping the fallen, The first harvest, The Triumph Of Light.... and Thy Thirteen Shadows of Love, I4I and Conquest, Love & Self Perseverance I believe that each of the anticipated and forthcoming accomplishmentswill prove equally pleasing.

The booklet in Absolute Supper says that you joined Archon Satani once again. Is this true?

Please tell me a bit about the reasons of this union, last news about theproject and when do you plan to release an album. Mikael and I reunited as Archon Satani for the accomplishment of the particular song featured on The AbsoluteSupper. We have thence discussed the possibility of releasing one final and conclusive AS working featuring all previously unreleased material conceived prior to my departure, conceivably realized in association with one
first and final AS performance, and thence ultimately put the entity of Archon Satani to rest. But when and whether either of the appointed aspirations will be realized yet remains to be resolved, as Mikael currently seems apparently inclined to put his erstwhile activities behind him.

Do you have other side projects?

No.

CMI signed some new noise bands recently. It looks like they want to move
into that noise/power electronics direction. What do you think about such music and the decision of CMI to increase number of releases with noisestuff?

CMI is by no means trying to divert its progression into the Noise & Power
Electronic scene as this is fromwhere it originates. I believe CMIs resolution to release Esthetics of Cruelty and therewith launching an entirely new lineage of Cold Meat Industry bands & artists was a seemingly conscious decision by virtue of which to extend its boundaries, rediscover its foundation, and ultimately avoid the outcome of becoming categorized as a labelmerely releasing a particular variation of music.

I see no conflict in CMIs conspicuous decision and desire to reintroduce and
extend this particular lineage of
sound as part of CMI as far as it complies with the aggregated standard of CMI; past & present.

I was always wondering why Sweden has so much good commercially successful music. ABBA, Ace of Base, Army of Lovers, tons of techno/ dance one-day bands. Plus Swedish Death/ Black metal. You have huge industrial/ambient scene. Is that cuz Swedish soil very fertile for music making or government does helpmusicians in some way?

The Swedish government, by way of itself or any of its affiliated divisions, is in no way assisting, funding or encouraging the conceivable blossoming and ascent of any new and talented artists. And thence trying to determine a tangible reason for this nominated regional/national success is seemingly impossible; and consequently I believe the closest we can come to a conjectural explanation would have to be that the Swedish soil is a very fertile ground in affiliation to the process of successfully making music.

Lets finish the interview at the number 12. What do you want to say to the people who made themselves toread this very interview till the last sentence?

Realize yourself.
