Please introduce yourself a little. How long time you are into the music creating? What did bring you to this kind of activity?

When someone is in front of the sea or below a black sky contemplating the infinite, has the certainty that wants to live always with the spirit opened to that sensation. Many times the music has this effect on me, and that's why I have been making music since I was fourteen. Now, I am twenty-six and is the moment to show it.

And the result is really impressive. All the people here, whom I played your songs liked them a lot. Well, in the CD booklet, you are credited not only for music and texts, but also for "voz, samples, instrumentos". Which instruments do you play? Which way did you learn them?

I began with the electric bass, the other instruments that appear on my CD, I learned playing them by myself while recording the CD. Instruments like percussion, flute, and a lot of keyboard.

The pictures from the booklet show you in a concert. How often such events do happen? How do you like to play live?

I have played in three concerts only and it was a very funny experience. Now I am working in a new performance.

First time I ever heard about you has fallen on interviewing Gerhard from ALLERSEELEN. How did you met? What does connect you now?

I met Gerhard on the Pagan Festival Arcana Europa. Later, our friendship took us to work together. Always is agreeable to find someone honest.

I do understand that the Arcana Europa Festival is not for heathens exclusively. But as for your own concepcion del mundo - what can you say about it?

It's true that Arcana Europe is not exclusively a heathen festival, I think that it is an excuse to reunite some musical projects related to pagan religions to create a beautiful spectacle.
All the spiritual practices are OK for me, but I don't like the wrong utilisation from the ideas.
I conceive heathenism like an ideal more sincere that Christianity, because it's a return of the origins to recuperate the positive aspects of the religion. Moreover, nowadays nobody is burned in a bonfire, at least in Europe.
For me, the best religion is the religion that someone practices alone.

Spain is the country where the Catholic Church traditionally has very substantial authority. Can you admit yourself free from any Christian influence, even if through the architecture of your cities, art and culture itself?...

I don't try to escape from the Christianity symbols because they are sublimes, for example I love San Juan de la Cruz, but I detest how the Church use them. I think that the symbols of all the religions are similar.

Could you describe DAKSHINESWAR? Which are the differences between this project and O PARADIS? Is there any stuff released already?

O PARADIS and DAKSHINESWAR are the same. I changed the name because DAKSHINESWAR has a too much concrete meaning. Only one CD of O PARADIS exists and one 7" shared with ALLERSEELEN and CIRCE. But very soon, another CD will come out as well as a beautiful web-site.

What did you mean saying about the concrete meaning of the "Dakshineswar" name? And is it possible that you have chosen "O Paradis" without having put some secret meaning into this words?

Dakshineswar is an Indian temple in the outskirts of Calcutta, in the riverside of Ganges. O Paradis is a place where I can place my dreamed worlds.

It seems, you like travels. If you had unlimited possibilities, where you would wend your way to? Do you think there is a place on our planet where "geographical" and "spiritual" conceptions of Earthy paradise could coincide, even if a tiny bit?

When someone travels, his spirit becomes bigger and change his perception of the things, this experience help a lot to loosen the cords that tie us, and it's true that there are landscapes more magic and propitious than others to be nearer the heaven, but someone can explore his soul from his room.

Which are the relations between O PARADIS and CIRCE?

I chose Rosa from CIRCE as an additional collaborator in the beginnings of O PARADIS, but with time she preferred to express her concepts by her own project. There is still a good relationship between us, and maybe we'll work together again in a close future. Maybe next summer we'll record together a new 7 inches, as a new project from ALLERSEELEN.

What is the second CD? Please announce it a little. The concept, the title, the music�

The name for the new CD from O PARADIS will be "ENGRANAJES". The concept is very close to my last work, but seen from another point of view. And the same is for the sound.

How could you define O PARADIS music in general? What is the base of it?

O PARADIS is the shadow of the shapes, it's the light that remains in the retina when there is no light. My mission is to search through the music the beauty of this drama.

The lyrics of O PARADIS is mostly connected with sea or water. How would you explain this feature?

The sea, with his eternal movement, hide his real nature that is the absolute calm, and our wrong vision of the sea (life, God), sinks us in his storms. In my opinion the sea is the landscape that better express the infinite, and it's the origin of all the myths.

Which kind of music do you prefer to listen?

I like all projects that have the courage to be honest in their work. That's why I admire bands like THE BAND OF HOLY JOY, CURRENT 93, ALLERSEELEN... Definitively, these groups make of their music a way of live.

"Ensuenos"... Could you outline the inner world of a man who is crept over all these Dreams? What is he looking for? What does he miss?...

There is a black hole in the heart of all men and the intellect can't light that abyss. That's why, since the dreams or the music have not concrete shapes, they can show us, the way through this dark world. If I knew the end of this way I wouldn't make music.

All songs from this album are arranged in rather uncommon and unsuitable for an average taste way. Do you think if you would use more traditional arrangements you could receive much wider audience?

The artist that thinks in his audience while creating, is lost. The sound of my music is very close from what I am looking for.

Two questions about my favourite piece "Felicidad". What is the origin of the opening sample? And ...what is happiness, really?

The song "Felicidad" begins with a manipulated sample of Edith Piaff.
I have only know the happiness in very specific moments, it's in these moments, when I achieved to be a simple spectator, without gaieties, without nostalgies...Only the beauty around me.

Is "Ensuenos" CD the only release on El Circulo? What kind of label this one is?

Yes, El Circulo is a label exclusively to edit my works for the time being.

And what about distribution?

I am doing it by myself, but I'm looking for help from some official distributors. Anyway, the CD can also be found as a distribution from AORTA.

Usually Spain is associated with sun, sea, corrida, flamenco, castanets, Carmen, etc... Which words, symbols and images you would use to portray the land you live on?

I can identify the Mediterranean influence in my songs, but currently, I am not interested in include the cultural music of my country. On the other hand the rich literary culture of Spain, it's for me a source of inspiration.

Can you recommend any books and authors whose spirit and moods stand close to your own, to O PARADIS music?

On the new CD from O PARADIS I have included a poem of the "saint poet" San Juan de la Cruz (1542-1591). I like very much too, the surrealist poetry of the Catalan poet Joan Salvat-Papasseit (1894-1924).Ramon LLull (1232-1316) is another author very interesting because he has a big knowledge of the hermetic sciences. The chivalry books are the best, books like "Tirant lo blanc" from Joanot Martorell and of course "Don Quijote de la Mancha" from Cervantes.

There are at least two striking examples of the most radical denial and even enmity to the surrounding reality, though from opposite points: first is the rebellious socialist Salvat-Papasseit, longed for a "bright future", the second - semi-insane conservative Don Quijote, completely immersed in the "glorious past". Imaginary ideals at one hand, extreme poverty and outcast status at another... Maybe it's the normal price, I don't know. But as for you - do not people around say: "You are up in the clouds, hey guy, come down"? What would you reply?

Salvat-Papasseit and Don Quijote, both are dreamers and I would be proud of belonging to their ring (El Circulo). Who is more ingenuous the dreamer or the person that deny the dreamer?
