Three years of waiting are almost over for Mortiis aficionados worldwide as the Norwegian legend, now with full band in tow, prepare for the release of their new opus - 'The Grudge'. The highly anticipated follow up to 2001's 'The Smell Of Rain' is set for release through Earache Records in the UK and Europe on September 13th 2004 with a US release to follow on September 21st.

'The Grudge' which was recorded at Silvertone Studios in Fredrikstad, Norway contains ten new tracks with production duties undertaken by Mortiis and Vegard Blomberg .Lyrically the album sees Mortiis in an angry and reflective mood as the band deliver a set of highly charged and emotive songs. The tracklisting for the album is Broken Skin, Way Too Wicked, The Grudge, Decadent And Desperate, The Worst In Me, Gibber, Twist The Knife, The Loneliest Thing, Le Petit Cochon Sordide, Asthma (instrumental)

The album will be preceded on August 16th by the release of Mortiis's first ever single in the UK. 'The Grudge' (single edit) will only be available for a limited period and comes in two formats with unreleased exclusive non album material. The CD Digi Pack contains two re-mixed album tracks whilst the two track limited edition 7" inch vinyl poster bag version contains 'Decadent & Desperate'. A video for 'The Grudge' was recorded recently in New York with acclaimed director Charlie Deaux ( System Of A Down)

The Moljebka Pvlse CD "Tamon" on Segerhuva will be released in late june. This is a one-off step away from Mathias ambient material and
features some nice heavy static guitar-noise as well as some more
experimental ambient parts. This will for sure raise a few eyebrows on
former buyers. Full-color digipak, first edition 500 copies.

Next out will be the solo CD by IRM's mastermind Martin

SANCTUM - LET'S EAT CD

After 8 years of absence, Sanctum will finally feed all you hungry masses with new material. The impatiently awaited new album "Let's eat" will demand you to be curious and willing to taste the unknown. Like Sanctums previous work it's still about contrasts, but with stripped down sounds, less bombastic, rougher and more powerful. Still a pleasurable experience, for sure not easy to digest - more hard reality instead of baroque feasts.

Sanctum is a band from the Cold Meat Industry label, that with their first album "Lupus in fabula" opened up a new dimension in Nordic industrial music. Founded by Jan Carleklev and Hеkan Paulsson in 1994, the band has since been joined by different musicians. For "Let's eat", Sanctum invited a new singer, Sara-Lo av Ekstam.

The groups approach has always been not to follow any specific genre, but to experiment and to enjoy their music in full. A fact that can not only have been heard in their music, but also seen during their shows when the third permanent member of Sanctum, Ulrika Carlsson, takes care of the video performances. Their reputation has provided them with countless opportunities to tour in Europe and the States.

March 14: I have added a report from Lithuaniam festival Nordic Audio Modern. I also have managed to get an interview with Roger of Cold Meat Industry, so it will be published in upcoming issue of Stigmata. All interviews will be uploaded on this site in May.

К четвертому номеру журнала Стигмата будет прилагаться CDR с музыкой беларуских групп. CDR будет с шелкографией и профессиональной полиграфией. Любая группа, желающая принять участие в сборнике, может это сделать, соблюдая следующие условия:

1. к участию принимаются любые группы, играющие любую музыку (музыкальный стиль значения не имеет).
2. одна группа - один трек.
3. трек не должен превышать по длине 6 минут.
4. название трека должно быть на беларуском или "буржуйском" языке. Русскоязычные названия не принимаются.
5. материал должен быть прислан до 13 февраля.

Каждый трек должен сопровождаться информацией о группе на беларуском языке, контактным адресом и дискографией.

Каждая группа получит один экземпляр сборника без журнала. Мы оставляем за собой право не публиковать трек, если его качество не соответствует качеству остального материала сборника, но обещаем не пользоваться этим правом до тех пор, пока количество присланного материала не превысит объем одного CDR.

29 ноября минский клуб “NC” представляет первую стилизованную окологотическую вечеринку под названием “DARK WAY”, в рамках которой состоятся: презентация единственного в СНГ (!) и издаваемого именно в Беларуси готического журнала “Анк”, выступления коллективов DROMOS, BACHUS, TERRA CADAVERIS, OMEN FAUSTUM, а также продажа CD и атрибутики.

Краткая информация об участниках мероприятия:

Журнал “Анк” – окологотическое по наполнению и настроению печатное творение.
В свет вышло 2 номера с разнообразными материалами (музыка, кино, литература, арт, архитектура, фестивали и т.д.)

OMEN FAUSTUM – проект хорошо известного в белорусской музыкальной среде музыканта Влада Бубена и его супруги, созданный в 2001 году. В дискографии значится один альбом “Circusses”, изданный лейблом Eldritch Music в 2001 году. Стилистика: ambient/medieval/neoclassic. Основная идея – органичное использование классических инструментов (виолончель, скрипка, арфа) в звуковых коллажах современной музыкальной культуры.

BACHUS – совместное детище Влада Бубена и Константина «К.А.Т.а» Музырева. Был создан в 1997 году, является идейным продолжением культового проекта GERNUNNOS. Стилистика условно обозначается как gothic/black. В дискографии числится 4 альбома, первые три были изданы лейблом Sombre Productions, последний -- Invasion Records. Дебютное выступление данного коллектива состоится именно на вечеринке “DARK WAY”.

TERRA CADAVERIS -- cyber-goth/industrial-проект, созданный в сентябре 2002 года. Первоначально в нем участвовал один музыкант Cadaver Lucanti, в мае 2003 года к проекту присоединилась еще одна участница -- Solis Lucanti. На минской сцене проект дебютировал в текущем году на фестивале ”Dark Rave”. На сегодняшний день в дискографии имеются три демо, и один полноформатный альбом “Grothesque”.

DROMOS – скандально известный минский проект, породивший массу противоречивых мнений во многом благодаря своим экстремальным перфомансам. Стилистика музыки очень вариативна, присутствуют элементы таких стилей, как ritual dark-wave, ethnic, ambient, ebm, industrial-noise, post-black. Проект был основан в июне 2000 года, и его создатели неоднократно принимали участие в клубных концертах и фестивалях. В дискографии на сегодняшний день значится один альбом “Sacrifice to Abyss”, изданный на собственном лейбле Somord Prods. Второй альбом “Voices” планируется издать в начале следующего года. Концептуальные основы проекта – переосмысление и ретрансляция эзотерико-мифологического наследия, почти утраченного человечеством в потоках информационной шелухи масскульта.

DR-61 • NO XIVIC – untitled

DRONE Records is proud to present NO XIVIC, a newcomer from the growing Finnish drone era. His
very first release consists of underground ‘dronish’ experimental sounds. The three pieces on this
EP are based on long & moving metallic drones (as if coming from BERTOIA) mixed with higher,
near-distorted frequencies and low rumblings. This results in pure & elegant floating dronescapes
that never stands still, giving you nothing to fix upon from your completely immersed mind. An
atmosphere which is as much haunting as it its otherworldly. These three Finnish titles:
‘Rauhattomuus’ , ‘Kemikaaleja’ and ‘Sieni’ translate as ‘Restlessness’ , ‘Chemicals’ and
‘Mushrooms’. These tracks are pointing to an inherent tension and have a brilliant intoxicating
quality to them.

DR-62 • ENTRELACS – Cynorrodhon

Originally our label wanted to present YANNICK DAUBY’s solo work, knowing him from some fabulous
field-recordings (unfortunately most of them are still unreleased), he came up with a new project he has put
together with “organic-drone-master ” MICHAEL NORTHAM, known from several beautiful installations
and field-recording releases. Both are present in their new project going under the name of
ENTRELACS. Here they enchant us with live improvisation of high-frequency drones & overtones, some concrete microscopic sound-objects as well as a rumbling appearing from time to time. It’s like
millions of small sounds condensed together here... very rich in details. The B-Side is more
challenging with a much stranger and darker atmosphere using sharp & sawing clear sounds. Somehow
this music seems to reveal no “outer” or “objective” rhythm but rather the ‘inner-essence’ of
nature itself. The title of this record ‘Cynorrodhon’ is the name of a plant also named "Rosier des
chiens" in French. It develops “delicate flowers in spring time, red fruit in autumn and bears
spines the whole year.” (Yannick Dauby)

DR-63 • C.D. (Christian Dergarabedian) - Un piano en la garganta

Another newcomer on DRONE Records is C.D. (aka CHRISTIAN DERGARABEDIAN) originally born in Buenos Aires and now residing in Barcelona. Christian once played with REYNOLS and is now currently
working solo. Here we can enjoy a six tracks album that shows us the fascinating universe of C.D. A
dimension where static slow sound waves, disturbing noise-entities and meditative storm-breezes with sound effects are guaranteed to make you shiver! Imagine THE HAFLER TRIO meeting the
dynamics of BRUME…endless thick waves of overwhelming drones shaping up to this digital ambience
that sounds purely organic...

DR-64 • EMERGE – Relativity

EMERGE is a new project from Augsburg in South-Germany. After two self-released tapes & CDrs,
DRONE Records is very pleased to officially present this great audio-work to a wider audience. The
two tracks here (‘Relativity’ and 'Profundity’) carries
the listeners into very deep & low sound-regions throughout mysterious low rumblings & mechanized
loops added by various distorted voices arising from beyond. This atmospheric feeling is like being
under the earth or even underwater. It’s something
that sounds like deep breathings coming from an invisible abyss that would create a psychic room
inside it where the darkness is without any boundaries; no time or logic whatsoever: it’s the primal state of being.

Добрые люди прислали мне линк на рецензию последнего номера нашего журнала. Написали ее "эстеты" из неплохого сетевого издания Seidr. Не уважили мы их - и язык у нас корявый, и глупые мы, и не растем над собой и среди себя, и жидов мы не любим, и далее по тексту. Nebelhexe (formerly known as Hagalaz' Runedance) is currently recording her new album entitled "Laguz - Beneath the Lake". In October Andrea will record a video of one of the new Nebelhexe songs. Besides she will try to finish her graphic novel by the end of the year. Due to the busy schedule the planned South American tour was postponed to spring 2004.

August 17: I began to work on the new issue of the mag. Interviews ready: Инструкция по выживанию and Cyclotimia. Work in progress: State Art (label), Camerata Mediolanensee, Lustmord, Orplid, Dies Natalis, A Challenge Of Honour, In Govan Ring, Predominance, IRM, Spiritual Front. may be I'll add to the upcomung issue an interview with belarussian band H.T.T.P.
